The German should apply this before flying to the Philippines for marriage. He/ She can obtain this from the Standesamt where he/ she lives. Before the German acquire this, the Standesamt would ask for the following documents from the Philippines*:
- Cedula
- Birth certificate in NSO security paper and with red ribbon from DFA.
- CENOMAR in NSO security paper and with red ribbon from DFA.
- Joint affidavit of parental consent if the Filipino is below 26 years old. If parents are deceased, then from the guardian or immediate relative. This should be notarized and with red ribbon from DFA.
- Joint affidavit of single status. If parents are deceased, then two affidavits from immediate relatives. This should be notarized and with red ribbon from DFA. See photo below for sample template of these affidavits.
- Barangay clearance
- Photocopy of passport and is certified true copy by the DFA.
- For late registered birth, the Standesamt may ask for marriage certificate of parents, birth certificate of siblings, baptismal certificates and any other documents. Please contact the Standesamt for more details.
A payment of around €200 may be asked from him, and this corresponds also to the background investigation to be done in the Philippines. He/ She has to wait for about 3-5 months before this document is released. Your fiance has two options: send it via mail to the German Embassy in Manila and give instruction that you will be the one to pick up the Legal Capacity, or go there as soon as he/ she arrives in Manila and pick up the Legal Capacity the next day. We did the second option because my husband does not trust the post anymore due to lost post card and it doesn’t take much time anyway.

After you have the appropriate document from the Embassy, you can then go to the Local Civil Registry Office to process your marriage license. While waiting for the marriage license, you may start preparing for the wedding: search for venue, caterers, photographer and videographer, flowers, dress, etc.
*Note: The requirements may vary on every region in Germany. I am posting only based on my experience. Please ask your fiance to ask the appropriate Standesamt on his/ her area for additional requirements.

If hindi ok sa kanila due to slot or so, ask Ausländerbehörde for other school. Madaming schools pa, kaya don’t worry.

Hey, cheer up! Hindi yun bad, it was a mündliche Prüfung para malaman anong level mo, hindi ka pinatake ng exam kasi enough na ang interview para malaman nila ang level mo. Ako din hindi pinatake ng written noon, ininterview lang ako, December ako ininterview noon, dumating ang letter na may slot for me mga middle January na yun. Follow up lang kayo lagi, pwede nyo din sila eemail, hanapin nyo lang sa internet ang website nila para makuha ang email address. Ganun lang din ginawa namin noon, laging follow up. But don’t be depressed kung anong naging flow nung interview, don’t feel so bad. Sabi mo nga si Indonesian matagal na dito kaya madali sya makagets, but hindi ibig sabihin na di ka nila tatanggapin na, baka nadedelay dahil sa slot na mabibigay nila sa yo. Just follow up lang lagi.

Welcome to Germany! Yes, yun yung integration course. First part is german course up to B1 level and then last month is about politics and history. Depende sa lugar, meron ASAP or within your 3years visa (pag hindi natapos ay may fine), meron ok lang hindi agad i-take. But kung gusto mong magwork better do it now.

Mag-ask na kayo sa schools kasi punuan din. Hindi ka din makakastart agad sa course, ako kasi dati 3 months ako naghintay before nagkaroon ng slot. That was 2011, so lalo na ngayon matagal sa dami ng refugees na priority. Sabihin mo sa husband mo sa VHS yun, or ask kayo ng list of school sa Ausländerbehörde, may list sila dun.
Yung ID, nagbayad ba kayo ng around 110€ or 120€? Nakalimutan ko na yung price mismo eh basta more or else ganun. Ayun yung ID na sinasabi nila, yun yung residence permit mo. Since 2011 kasi ay ID na sya hindi na nakadikit sa passport. Iba pa ang citizenship, matagal pa yun. After 3 years of living here if asawa ng German saka pa pwede mag-apply ng citizenship at number 1 requirement doon ang integration course.

Kung start from A1 ng German ka, it will take 9 months kung sa VHS.
Hello miss Ann,I am a Ghanaian getting married to my fiance in Germany. The investigation, was done months ago and I have been to the interview. We are currently waiting for the marriage clearance so we can set the date. The documents have been sent to the court house for further processing. The lady at standesamt said 2-5weeks. Today marks 5 weeks since he submitted the forms. Still no feedback. What could be making the process take so long? I am currently in Ghana. He has made a visit to standesamt last week and was told they do not have control over the processing time. Kindly advice as to what to do.

Authentication pwede sa mga offices ng DFA sa mga provinces… as for passport, ung akin kasi sa DFA ko din pina-CTC noon… but ung iba I heard sa embassy nila pina-CTC, and I am not sure if they process per post, better to ask them personally. May contact form sa embassy website for that.

Hindi kelangan ng appointment sa DFA. Pinatatawag lang naman kita kasi sabi mo gusto mo iprocess per mail at hindi ako sure kung nagpprocess sila ng per mail. Pero if walk-in ay pwedeng pumunta anytime. Sa embassy, hindi mo tnry mag-email? May contact form sila sa website nila.

Hi! depende sa history ng german. As far as I know, if madaming beses lumipat ng residence yung German and nagkaroon ng previous marriage, medyo matagal, mga 3-5months. but if dun sya nakatira since birth, it could be weeks lang to a month or two.

Hi! yung process na ginawa ng fiance mo ay totally new sa akin. Kasi yung sa amin ay di ko maalala na pumunta sa embassy ang asawa ko. Basta yung Ehefähigkeitszeugnis na galing sa Standesamt ay dinala lang nya diretso to Pinas tapos walk-in lang kami sa German Embassy. Hindi ko alam kung anong papel ang binigay ng PH embassy sa kanya which makes it valid for marriage na without going through German Embassy in Manila. You can try sa LCR sa lugar na pagkakasalan nyo, sila magsasabi kung kailangan pa ang from Embassy o hindi na.

Hi! It depends on the Standesamt of your bf. May cities dito na BC at Cenomar lang hinihingi. Papuntahin mo sya sa Standesamt para humingi ng list of requirements for Ehefähigkeitszeugnis. If isa eto sa hingiin, yung akin ay ako lang gumawa, kinopya ko lang yung format from other blog (yung pictures sa blog ko ay from pinoyingermany.blogspot.com) then pinanotaryo ko. Pwede ka din pagawa sa public attorney.

Yung Ehefähigkeitszeugnis lang. May 2 options, personal na dalhin nyo sa embassy or sa consulate sa Cebu (kung malayo kayo sa manila) or kung asa Germany pa sya, ipacourier nya (I would recommend FedEx, UPS or DHL Express) to German Embassy Manila at isesend back sa kanya yung legal capacity or mag-attach sya ng letter na ipipick up mo yung legal capacity. Kung ikaw magpipick up, you need copy ng ID nya, at 2 valid IDs, magready na din ng authorization letter para sure.
Kami ay personal na nagpunta sa embassy, 1 business day lang naman ang processing nya.
